The book isn't just fiction it is a love story, and an adventure. It is a story of the survival of a girl, and her "Love life" in a "Sporting event" That have 24 competitors fighting to the death on live TV. People are forced to celebrate these games happily every year, but of course it's really a punishment for the 13 districts that are what is left of North America, fight back against the capitol and district 13 is obliterated. The remaining 12 now have to live in poverty enriched places with no contact outside their districts. Of course Katniss decides to change that....

I can honestly say I was sincerely affected by what this author was able to do in such a limited space. Incredibly, it seems to be a new book every time you read it! This book is bigger than its size or length give it credit for. But when all is said and done, it's a small book that can be as profound or as trivial as you are willing to make it. I hope it inspires you to ask the good questions, and then go looking for the honest answers as it has me.

I was devastated by reading this book - so involved was I with the main character's fortunes, and especially that of Jude's. I will never forget the first time I read it and want to read it again soon. It's just one of those types of books. If you want a book to be like an axe for the frozen sea inside you, as Kafka said a book should be, then read this book now.

It's the fourth book of the series, it's fiction/adventure. It was a long time ago, read the first, second, and third book, then read this book. The first one is The City of Ember, second, The people of Sparks, third, The prophet of Yonwood
